How Much Is the HYROX Prize Money in 2026/27?

These purses apply to the Elite fields only. Doubles prize money is paid to the team and split equally between the two athletes, so a team payout is not what each partner takes home.

HYROX Elite Series Prize Money: Payouts by Place

Elite Series vs the 2025/26 Majors

The jump from last season is large. A 2025/26 Major paid $15,000 to each Elite Singles winner and $10,000 to each winning Doubles team. The Elite Series raises those to $23,250 and $15,500, which is a 55 percent increase on both top prizes.

The increase also reaches the bottom of the field. Singles 15th place moves from $900 to $2,000, and Doubles 15th place rises from $600 to $1,750 per team. The combined purse of a Major was $199,000, compared with $329,500 for each Elite Series event, which is about 66 percent more.

HYROX World Championship Prize Money 2026/27

The World Championship Singles and Doubles purse totals $759,000 in 2026/27. Add the $100,000 Elite Invitational Relay and the full championship weekend pays $859,000. That compares with $504,000 at the 2026 World Championships in Stockholm, an increase of $355,000, or about 70 percent.

Place Singles (per athlete) Doubles (per team)

7 Essential HYROX Prize Money Numbers to Know

If you only want the headline figures, these seven numbers sum up the 2026/27 HYROX prize money structure.

  1. $2,506,500: the total Elite purse for the season, across five Elite Series races, Worlds and the relay.
  2. $329,500: what each Elite Series race pays across Singles and Doubles.
  3. $23,250 and $15,500: the Elite Series first prizes for Singles (per athlete) and Doubles (per team), up 55 percent on a 2025/26 Major.
  4. $58,250: the Singles World Champion payout, up from $40,000 in Stockholm.
  5. $49,250: the winning Doubles team at Worlds, or $24,625 per athlete after the equal split.
  6. $2,000: what 15th place now earns in Elite Series Singles, up from $900 last season.
  7. +70%: the increase in World Championship weekend prize money, from $504,000 to $859,000.

What HYROX Athletes Actually Earn From Prize Money

HYROX prize money is not profit: athlete race gear, bib and boarding pass on a locker-room bench

A big purse does not mean big profit. As a theoretical ceiling, an athlete who won all five Elite Series Singles races and the World Championship would collect $174,500 (5 × $23,250 plus $58,250), before any Doubles or relay money. That is a perfect season that almost nobody will deliver.

Most of the field earns far less. A mid-table Elite Series finish pays a few thousand dollars, and Doubles money is halved between partners. Those prizes also have to cover travel, entries and the Elite license, which Hybrid Fitness Media reported at €499 for 2026/27, up from €197 the previous season.

⚠️
Warning

All figures are gross prize money for Elite fields, as announced by HYROX to its athletes. They exclude taxes, travel, entry fees and the license cost, so they are not take-home income.

How Athletes Qualify for the Elite Series Prize Money

Prize money goes to the Elite fields, and access depends on the Elite leaderboard. HYROX locks the leaderboard on a cutoff date before each Elite Series race, then invites athletes to the Elite 15 and the Challenger 15 fields. Qualification is confirmed roughly 21 days before each race, according to Hybrid Fitness Media.

5 Common Mistakes When Reading HYROX Prize Money

The headline numbers are easy to misread. These are the errors that show up most often when people compare payouts.

  • Treating a Doubles payout as a personal payout. Doubles money is paid to the team and split equally, so $49,250 means $24,625 per athlete.
  • Assuming the purse applies to every race. These payouts cover the Elite fields only, not every HYROX event.
  • Mixing up Majors and the Elite Series. Majors were the 2025/26 format. The Elite Series is the 2026/27 structure and pays more.
  • Quoting Stockholm numbers for next season. The $40,000 Singles prize belongs to the 2026 Worlds. The 2026/27 Singles winner prize is $58,250.
  • Ignoring the cost side. Travel, entries and the Elite license all come out of the prize money before it becomes income.

Quick Action Plan: Using the HYROX Prize Money Data

Use this short plan to turn the numbers into decisions, whether you race, coach or follow the sport.

  1. Bookmark the cutoff dates if you chase an Elite spot, starting with the Hamburg cutoff on October 6.
  2. Check the payout table for the race you target, then compare it with your realistic finishing position.
  3. Split Doubles money in half before you budget a season with a partner.
  4. Add the costs of travel, entries and the license to see your break-even finishing place.
  5. Secure your race entries early, since popular events sell out. Set up alerts on HYTRACK to catch releases and cancelled spots.
